Silent Breeze

Written by Si Atherley

A modern ghost story
[intro]

She thought about him every day
In every way
She could not forget

She looked for him high and low
Where they used to go
But he wasn’t there

She looked for him in the empty spaces
Between the places
They used to go

She thought about him every day
In every way
She could not forget

[break]

And then one day
She heard him say

You’ll hear me on the silent breeze
Blowing through the trees
On the avenue

You’ll see me in the turning pages
Of the golden ages
In our history book

You’ll find me in the hidden faces
Of the many phases
Of the silver moon

You’ll feel me in the empty spaces
Between the places
That we used to go

[break] [refrain]

But she couldn’t hear anything
In the empty lots
On the avenue

And she couldn’t find anything
In the crumbling pages
Of their history book

But she couldn’t see anyone
In the many faces
Of the bitter moon

And she couldn’t feel anything
In between the places
That they used to go

[M8]

Mmmm mmmm mmmmmm…..
Mmmm mmmm mmmmmm….
Mmmm…

Then she heard him on the silent breeze
Blowing through the trees
On the avenue

She saw him in the turning page
Of a golden age
In their history book

She found him in the hidden faces
Of the many phases
Of the silver moon

She felt him in the empty spaces
In between the places
That they used to go
