Woman in the Window

Written by Si Atherley

Anecdotal parable of dismay

Woman in the window

V1

She looks like a model, OR

(She has the body of a model)

Face like a (an ice) queen

She could be on the cover of a magazine OR

She has the face of a model,Ā Ā Ā Ā  OR a China doll

Stands just like a queen,

Should be on the cover of a magazine

V2

His jeans are all ragged,

His shoes down at heel,

Can’t even find the money

To buy a simpleĀ meal

V3

There’s a pane of glass

Between them

He wishes wasn’t there

(Start song???)

He sees her ever day

Tries not to stop and stare

Tries not to stop and stare

Though he sees her ever day

Chorus

And he wishes he could melt away

Melt away

The wall between them

He wishes he could melt away

So he could say

Just what he feels

VX

He wants to step inside

Step inside her world

He wants to step inside

Step insideĀ her shoes

He wonders if she’s the kind

To keep him in his place,

Till (Then) he sees a tear trickle. (a single tear) Down her porcelain face

Now it’s eight in the morning

And she’s agreed to meet

She’s standing in the window,

She lets him kiss her cheek

But then she turns and walks away

Now she’s out on the street

Looking through the glass at him

And he can’t move his feet

????

(Not sure about this verse, think it might be yours)

He’s just another mannequin

In the window of a store,

Can’t speak, can’t move

Can’t feel any more

.

Chorus

And he wishes he could melt away etc
